Our Ensembles
Whether you are a seasoned musician, or just wanting to get your foot wet in the waters of music, you will find a group for you here at First Presbyterian!

The Chancel Choir
Our busiest and most known ensemble, our Chancel Choir has gained national attention for it's musical excellence and diverse repertoire. Membership is open to all - those interested in joining should email the Music Director prior to attending rehearsal to ensure music is prepared for you. If you are unsure of your vocal part, the music staff will work with you to determine the best vocal part fit for you in the choir. The Chancel Choir rehearses weekly on Wednesday in the Music Suite at 6:30 - rehearsals are open to the public with rare exception. The choir is off the months of January, and parts of July and August.
The Bell Choir
Restarting in spring 2025 - the Handbell choir is a great way to dip your foot into music, even with no experience! This group welcomes all with a passion to learn and have fun making music. This group of self professed ding-a-lings meet on Wednesdays at 5:30 in room 219 during the academic year.

The Chancel Ensemble
Our instrumental ensemble - this group is for those who like a more modern approach to music in worship! If you play an instrument and are looking for a way to participate in worship more regularly, reach out to the music office to schedule your audition with the Ensemble!
The Schola
Made up of our Choral Scholars and experienced professionals, the Schola is a fully professional vocal ensemble with membership by audition only. The Schola can be heard at special services throughout the year, at our monthly Evensong, and in concert at various events around Galveston.
