" Come meet the Maestro"
Kom og møt Maestroen

Our distinguished conductor for the Galveston Symphony,
Trond Saeverud,
will be coming FPC to speak on Tuesday,
February 3rd, at 6:30 PM
The Galveston Symphony Orchestra (GSO) has been entertaining audiences with both classical and original music for 46 years.

Trond Saeverud became the conductor and music director in 2013, and under his leadership, the repertoire has become more engaging and challenging for the 40 local musicians, most of whom live in the Galveston area.

Saeverud, who previously led orchestras in Denmark, Norway, and the US, has extensive experience as a conductor and violinist, including founding the Passamaquoddy Bay Symphony Orchestra in Maine, where he is the artistic director. He also conducted the Bangor Symphony Orchestra from 2008 to 2010.

As a soloist, he has performed with major orchestras like the Royal Philharmonic in London and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s in New York. His CD “Ghosts” received Norway’s equivalent of a Grammy in 1997.

Trond holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Kansas, where his dissertation was a new edition of his grandfather Harald Saeverud’s Second Symphony.
He also serves as the music director of the UTMB – Galveston Healing Arts Orchestra
