First Presbyterian Church of Galveston will be hosting the annual

Beach Hero Art Exhibition

Saturday, October 3nd , from 1 to 3 pm.

 

Held in the church’s Fellowship Hall, the exhibit will feature art from local elementary schools and the Sunshine Center.

 

Students will be asked to draw ways in which birds, turtles and ocean wildlife in the Gulf can be protected. The exhibit will also feature art from local elementary schools, and the Sunshine Center.

​

The artwork will be judged with 1st, 2nd, and 3 rd  place winners from each school. All art work is framed and hung.

​

In past years, over four hundred pieces of artwork has been produced.  The Galveston Bay Master Naturalists sponsor the Beach Hero program.

​The Music & Arts Ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Galveston will host Kathleen Maca as she shares her stories of Galveston history. She a freelance writer and photographer with a love for Texas history and Old Cemeteries. She is the author of Galveston Broadway Cemetery and A History of Hotel Galvez. Come enjoy her stories from the grave.
