First Presbyterian Church of Galveston offers you a memorable Christian wedding.

The towers of our historic church rise above the heart of old Galveston at the corner of Church and 19th Streets. This prime location will place your wedding within a few blocks of the Strand, is a short drive from resort hotels on the beach, and is easily accessible to out-of-town guests.

Our Sanctuary is an amazing setting for weddings. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building was designed by the noted architectural firm, Jones & Baldwin of Memphis, TN, constructed by famed Texas architect Nicholas Clayton and completed in 1889.

Seating up to 400, the Sanctuary’s breath-taking beauty includes stained-glass windows designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany and his studio, antique hand-crafted furnishings, a grand piano and a magnificent pipe organ.  In June of 2008, a new state-of-the-art sound system will further enhance our ability to accommodate a variety of vocalists and musical instruments – from classical to contemporary – to reflect your personality and style.  

Our personable minister, David Green, is glad to welcome you as you prepare for, and as the Church hosts, your traditional Christian wedding ceremony.  Ceremonies may be conducted in our Victorian-era Sanctuary or in our more intimate Chapel (seating up to 70).  Non-member wedding fees begin at $3000 for sanctuary weddings and $2000 for chapel weddings. At no additional cost, the church will provide an organist (or pianist), the custodial staff and a wedding liaison to assist with your special day.  It is customary for any minister to receive a significant honorarium for conducting your unique service and counseling the bride and groom; however, our Pastor's honorarium is included in the wedding fee.

You must book early. We conduct only twelve or so weddings per year and thus, each is very, very special.
