East End Preschool &
Kindergarten
is currently not meeting due to
damages to the building from Hurricane Ike - watch for more information!
East End Preschool &
Kindergarten, operated by a Parent Board and housed in the Education Wing
of First Presbyterian Church, offers morning programs for
infants, toddlers, twos, threes, fours & kindergarten age children. The
school, in existence for over twenty years, offers small classes, with
developmentally-appropriate curriculum that encompasses a philosophy of learning
by doing. The days are organized around themes.
From
a child's point of view school is a place they want to be because:
-
they make new
discoveries about themselves
-
they learn to solve
problems
-
they learn how to get
along with others
-
their thoughts are
important
-
other people want to
listen to them
-
they discover new and
different things
-
they learn to accept and
respect differences in people
-
they learn to listen to
what others think and feel
EEP admits students of any race, color, national
and ethnic origin. It does not discriminate in administration of its educational
or admission policies.
East End Preschool & Kindergarten merged
in 2006 with its
sister program, Mother's Day Out at First Presbyterian -- both programs have
been at home in the First Presbyterian education unit for over 25 years.
Program Director is Christie Simon; Assistant
Director is Leanne Doggett.
More information about the preschool's
programs is available by phoning First Presbyterian Church at 409-762-8638 or
e-mailing EEP
If you want
to make donations toward EEP's post-storm refurbishment, please call or email,
rather than mailing items directly to the church, as storage space is almost
non-existent during the renovation.
