Galveston Reads 2012:

First Presbyterian Galveston is hosting a Galveston Reads 2012 discussion of the novel Still Alice, on Thursday, February 2, 6:00-7:30 p.m.  This is FPC Galveston's first participation in the annual Galveston Reads program.

Still Alice, a novel by Lisa Genova, is the story of a fifty year-old professor of neuropsychology at Harvard University who is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease.  The New York Times best-selling novel follows an accomplished woman slowly losing her thoughts and memories to a harrowing disease, only to discover that each day brings new ways of living and loving.

Besides discussions held at local churches & other venues, Galveston Reads 2012 events in January through March include a Professors Panel Discussion, a movie night at Texas A&M Galveston, a photography panel at Rosenberg Library during Art Walk, a medical forum at UTMB, and a visit to Galveston by the author to speak at UTMB and at Galveston College.  For further information, please visit www.galvestonreads.org or visit Galveston Read's Facebook page.
